For those who likes adventure & adrenaline rush, what if you were dared to jump into a raft and navigate your way through some of the most pumping waves and rapids Cianten River has to offer? Cisadane River has nice view along the river. One of the stream called The “Jeram Naga” or “Dragon Stream”, also offers the flow like dragon, wild and hard. Activity    : Pre-Wedding Photo Trip
Location   : Thousand Island, Jakarta
Trip          : April 2012

“We’ve been arranged pre-wedding photo trip for numerous times, but this is the first time for Arkhipelagos arranging trip that a little deeper than usual and completely different. Selvia is a certified diver and her obsession over underwater pre-wedding photo and scuba diving trip in Indonesia got her fiancee Willy Tjua scrambling for an expert guidance to assist their 2 in 1 request.

Through a friend, they get to know Arkhipelagos. We were having fun during underwater photo shoot session in Jakarta and scuba diving trip in Thousand Island. Of course Selvia enjoyed most being in the spotlight. We can’t get their photo session and scuba diving trip out of our mind as it’s still so fresh. They knew shooting in Indonesia meant a lot more than just shooting. And with Thousand Island’s clear water, sea creatures, beaches and vibrant scene, Thousand Island will become their favourite weekend getaway afterwards. – Photographed by Enriko M Sunanda”

And Then It Happened in Krakatoa

Posted in: Photoblog, Sports & Adventure by admin on April 1, 2013 | No Comments

Activity    : Scuba Diving
Location   : Krakatoa, West Java
Trip          : July 2012

“Mount Krakatoa; known as Gunung Krakatau is a volcanic island in Indonesia, belongs to the Pacific Ring of Fire. The eruption in 1883 is one of the biggest in history, produced unleashing huge tsunamis that killing more than 36,000 people and over two-thirds of the island destroyed. The giant waves from that eruption, rose up to 40 meters managed to reach the southern part of the Arabian Peninsula, some 7,000 kilometres away. The explosion considered as the loudest sound ever heard up to 4,800 kilometres from its point of origin. Eruption happened again in 1927 and produced a new island called Anak Krakatau, or Child of Krakatoa. Anak Krakatau’s radius estimated to be 2 kilometres and rises up to a maximum height of 300 meters above sea level.

Beside trekking and climbing, diving in Krakatau also interesting. Krakatau underwater presents the divers with wide range of diving options from deep walls and towering pinnacles formed by past violent volcanic eruptions, to soft and hard coral coastal reefs and isolated coral cays. Schools of Moorish idols and other reef fish inhabit the area, and one occasionally sees reef white tip sharks. How does it sound? – Photographed by Andrew Lioe”

Activity    : Snorkeling, Scuba Diving, Beach
Location   : Thousand Island, Jakarta
Trip          : June 2012

“Thought scuba diving was only for Adults? Well, you don’t have to be an adult to experience underwater. Sign up, gear up and take on a new dimension about marine life and coral reef. Scuba Diving is really a safe, easy and fun sport that should be enjoyed by the whole family especially children nowadays. They don’t have to be super swimmers but should be comfortable in the water. That way works. This is how Santa Laurentia Jakarta Junior High School Students did to experience fantastic way to interact with marine life from learning scuba dive. We brought them learn new skills, gain confidence, experience fun scuba with the maximum depth in 6 feet and have interactive program through hawks-bill turtle conservation. Their underwater adventure begins with Arkhipelagos. – Photographed by Steven Lianel”

“Did you know that Indonesia has been hailed as the world’s best scuba diving destination with over 13,000 islands? It would probably take a lifetime to explore each one. That’s what made Desmond, Wee Yang and Bao Lin stash themselves away in a private island in Jakarta to learn scuba diving for its crystal clear waters, rich corals, and the bio-diverse marine.

Desmond, Wee Yang and Bao Lin are definitely awesome souls. With their zero experience joining this kind a trip before, they got super excited and dare for their first ever Discovery Scuba Dive trip. So far this has got to be the most enjoyable trip of the year we arranged, collaborate with Trisakti Tourism Diving Club Jakarta. Every session was so relaxed and hilarious. Heaven on earth! What else can we ask for? – Photographed by Hiu Danny Lim”

Awesomeness Does Come In Simple Way

Posted in: Photoblog, Sports & Adventure by admin on September 1, 2012 | No Comments

Activity     : Paragliding, Flora & Fauna
Location   : Puncak, Bogor
Trip          : August 2012

“One of the reasons Arkhipelagos love arranging customised trip specially designed for small group, is we able together enjoy the countless adventure and to get to know the clients more, as well as the story about their family and friends. We feel so blessed whenever we could capture happy moments of our client’s holiday and let their friends witness the adventure through the pictures we documented.

This series is talk about Desmond, Wee yang and Bao Lin. We know their friends (Janis, Eujean and Cedric) way before. Janis, Eujean and Cedric went to Safari and did Paragliding 2 years back. And now it is Desmond, Wee Yang and Baoling turn.  There’s so much to tell about them and we totally (heart) bringing them around. The really love being wacky, no pretence, and went all out to have fun even when they were about to touch down back in Singapore. Excited, hilarious and nervous in the same time were all about minutes before they flew at 10,000 feet above ground. But after the Tandem Master signal them to run and fly off from the hills, instantly they hit by the thrilling sensation of free flying like a bird and gliding weightlessly in the air.

Enjoy their photos in Puncak (Mountain Resort). And again apologise for the photos in this post are blurry. It is because our heart was thumping as we laughed so much and struggled to hold the camera (Hee, Excuses!). – Photographed by Dian Jelita”
